The Project Lead The Way program is all about teaching and learning using practical applications. The program makes science and math relevant. By engaging in hands-on, real-world projects, students understand how the skills they are learning in the classroom can be applied in everyday life.

ABOUT GATEWAY TO TECHNOLOGY
This is the eighth year that Gateway To Technology has been implemented here at Perry Local and I am extremely excited that I am teaching this class. I teach two different classes and each class lasts one semester. The classes are Robotics & Energy and Design & Space. In Robotics & Energy, we will cover Robots in today’s world, Mechanical gears, Lego parts and programming using Lego Mindstorms, and a final project of a Rube Goldberg project using simple machines to focus on energy transfer.
In Design & Space, we will cover Introduction to technology, the design process, sketching, 3D computer modeling using AutoDesk Inventor, and prototype fabrication. In the flight portion of the class, we will learn about the History of Flight and Space, Aeronautics, and Traveling and Living in Space. These classes are designed to continue through graduation with classes offered at Perry High School.
OUR VISION
To see 100% of our students graduate, prepared for college or career; accomplished through forming positive relationships, maintaining high expectations, and engaging students in meaningful lessons & activities.
